Jean Smith has always been fascinated by people and their cultures, and following attainment of her degree in cultural anthropology she enriched her knowledge and expertise by living and working in a range of countries including the US, Istanbul, Australia, Japan and Europe. Her primary skills are presenting, writing and communicating with people.
Founded by Jean in early 2004, Allure Seminars educates people in skills essential to relating to others in life and love. The Seminars are taught via a combination of theory, practical role-play and self-analysis. The Flirting & Walking Tours, flirting tours of a city's hotspots, provide an 'interactive' overview of the Allure Seminars.
Jean regularly contributes to radio as 'The Flirting Expert' for stations including the BBC (London and Birmingham), LBC 97.3 and Capital. She has been featured in publications including MarieClaire (London and Russia), Red Magazine, Time Out London, The Birmingham Post, The Sunday Express, The Daily Express, and Shape Up (Norway's highest circulation women's magazine). Television appearances include BBC2's 'The Money Program' in February 2006, The Flirting and Walking Tour of London featured as part of a Valentine's Weekend Special 2005 for ITV's 'London Tonight', and also throughout Europe on 'Russian Hour'.
'Stateside' in 2006, Jean appeared on Chicago's CBS and NBC news programs, with the tours profiled in The Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times.
As a speaker, engagements have included appearances as keynote speaker for the University of Canterbury's Women in Business Conference and at London's Mary Ward Centre. She is on the entrepreneurial panel for Young Enterprise, a U.K. charity helping students plan their future careers, and regularly presents to students on behalf of Young Enterprise.
Corporate engagements include Jean's work with London P.R. firms to represent their clients including Johnson&Johnson and Chevrolet. Jean has developed and presented material to European journalists in London, Rome and Rotterdam.
Jean's unique combination of knowledge, practical skills, empathy and humor make her an exemplary presenter with an exceptional understanding of the psychology of relationships.
